A Photographic Portrayal of the People of the Cayman Islands
By H. G. Nowak (The Barefoot Man)

This wonderful coffee table style publication is a collection of Barefoot's best black and white photographs. When Barefoot first arrived in Grand Cayman the island had no radio or TV station, there were but a few hotels and restaurants and maybe three taxi drivers. George knew the peaceful charm could not last forever with Grand Cayman's spectacular beaches and reefs and development was just around the corner. So he started snapping photos of the old fishermen, the old houses and warm smiles.

In 1997 Barefoot turned his entire photo collection over to the National Archives who in turn collaborated with the National Museum to publish this book. It is available only through the National Museum of the Cayman Islands and all profits from the publication go to the museum and their fine work in preserving the islands history and culture. You can order by contacting the museum here and be sure to visit the museum during your next visit to Grand Cayman
